Description

Delphin Stinx RIBS Shrimp 5cm NATUR

The Delphin Stinx RIBS Shrimp 5cm NATUR is a light soft lure with a tail that imitates fish fry. Slim profile and soft material create high rate of movement even with a slow manipulation. The lure has a high frequency of tail wagging which makes it irresistible for trouts and perches. However, that doesn’t mean that it won’t get attacked by a larger predator or a carp. The material floats and ensures a more realistic presentation of the lure. The notches on the lower side create additional vibrations and increase the chances of attraction.

The lures have several different colour combinations and they are all UV active to reflect more sunlight underwater and to be more noticeable in deep waters or when it gets darker. To increase the chances of attraction, the lures are stores in a container with a liquid attractor. You can place the lure you’re using inside the container for improved luring properties.

Lure weight: 0,75g

The Delphin B! StinxRIBS Shrimp 5cm JERKY lure can be used for bass fishing, particularly in situations where bass are known to feed on shrimp or other small invertebrates. While the lure is primarily designed for ultra-light spin fishing for species like trout and perch, its realistic presentation and added attractant can also attract larger predators like bass.

Factors Affecting Use for Bass

  • Bait Size: The lure is generally available in a small size (around 5 cm or 2 inches). This smaller profile may limit the size of bass you catch, though larger bass can still be caught on small baits.
  • Scent and Attractant: The lures are stored in a container with a liquid attractant, which enhances their luring properties and can be a major draw for bass, especially in stained or dark water.
  • Realistic Action: The soft, floating material and ribbed design create realistic movement and vibrations that can trigger a strike.
  • Target Species: The bait is marketed for a versatile range of fish, including perch and trout, but also notes its potential for “bigger predators or carps,” which includes bass.

Effective Techniques for Bass

When using this lure for bass, consider the following techniques:

  • Jigging: Rig the shrimp on a light jighead and use a slow jigging motion or quick twitches to mimic a fleeing shrimp along the bottom.
  • Popping Cork (Saltwater/Brackish): In tidal systems or brackish water where bass feed on migrating shrimp, rig the lure 14 to 24 inches under a popping cork and “pop” it along grass lines. This mimics the sound of a shrimp popping on the surface and draws attention to the bait.
  • Weedless Rig: While the small size might make this difficult, rigging it weedless (if possible) would allow you to fish it effectively in and around cover where bass often hide.
  • Targeting Forage: Use the lure when you observe bass actively feeding on small forage like minnows, small shrimp, or aquatic insects.

In conclusion, the Delphin B! StinxRIBS Shrimp can be a very effective bait for bass, especially when bass are keyed in on smaller prey items. The key is to match the presentation to the local conditions and the bass’s current diet.
